Steak Sandwich

This open-faced steak sandwich is a riff on classic Steak ’n Caesar, replacing traditional Romaine with heart-healthy spinach.

Ingredients

  • 2 thick slices bread, toasted or grilled
  • 14 cup steak sauce
  • 1 cup baby spinach leaves
  • 1 (4 oz/ 114 g) Grilled Montreal Steak, cooked, sliced
  • 4 strip loin steaks
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 - 4 tbsp Montreal Steak Rub or Beef & Steak Seasoning
  • 14 cup Caesar Dressing
  • 2 tbsp Caesar Dressing Mix
  • 2 tbsp light mayonnaise or Greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 14 cup olive oil
  • 14 cup milk, your choice
  • 2 crushed garlic cloves, optional
  • 2 red onion rings, optional
  • Better Than Bacon Topper, to taste

Preparation

  1. Spread toasted bread with steak sauce. Arrange spinach overtop.
  2. Top with steak, then drizzle with Caesar Dressing.
  3. Place sandwiches on plates and top with onion rings, if desired, and Better Than Bacon Topper.
