Pears Poached with Mulling Spices

This simple, yet elegant, dessert is sure to wow friends and family alike!

Ingredients

  • 4 cups Mulled Wine, prepared, or prepared Mulled Cider
  • 4 cups red wine
  • 2 tbsp Mulling Spices
  • 12 cup brandy, optional
  • cinnamon sticks, for garnish - optional
  • 2 oranges, thinly sliced, for garnish - optional
  • 2 lemons, thinly sliced, for garnish - optional
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 large pears or apples, peeled

Preparation

  1. In Multipurpose Pot, simmer first 2 ingredients in a saucepan for 5 minutes.
  2. Add pears and simmer until barely fork tender, 15 minutes. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature.
