Pears Poached in Mulling Spices with Chocolate Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 recipe Mulled Apple Juice, prepared
  • 4 bags Mulling Spices
  • 4 cups apple juice
  • 4 cinnamon sticks, optional
  • 2 large pears
  • 14 cup whipping cream
  • 13 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Preparation

  1. In a Multipurpose Pot, warm mulled apple juice over medium heat. Peel, core, and cut each pear in half vertically.
  2. Once warm, add pears and poach until fork-tender. Reserve liquid.
  3. In a separate Multipurpose Pot, bring whipping cream to a boil. Remove from heat and add chocolate chips, stirring until melted. Stir in vanilla.
  4. Place poached pears on a serving plate and drizzle with warm chocolate sauce. Serve with a warm mug of the mulled apple juice used to poach the pears.
