Pear Chai Waffles

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp chai spice
  • 1 can (14 oz/398 ml) pears, drained, and finely chopped
  • 13 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 recipe prepared Classic Waffles
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 pinch Sea Salt, finely ground
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk, your choice
  • 14 cup oil, + extra for brushing
  • 1 - 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • whipped cream and maple syrup, to taste

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 425° F (220° C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine chai spice, pears, and sugar. Fold mixture into batter.
  3. Place Waffle Mold on Sheet Pan. Using a basting brush, lightly brush Waffle Mold with oil.
  4. Pour approximately 1⁄4 cup of batter into each Waffle Mold until it fills all corners.
  5. Bake until golden, approximately 13–15 minutes. Let cool for 2 minutes, or until Waffle Mold is cool to the touch. Gently remove waffles from Waffle Mold.
  6. Serve with whipped cream and a drizzle of maple syrup, if you like.
