Rich, buttery and sweet, this traditional French Canadian treat is so good you’ll want to make a second batch.
Ingredients
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup whipping cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp butter
Preparation
Stir first three ingredients together in an 8-cup microwavable bowl.
Heat in the microwave for 11 minutes, stirring every 3 minutes.
Using an electric mixer, beat in vanilla extract and butter on medium-high, for 2–4 minutes, until the mixture is thickened. (You’ll know it’s ready when the surface changes from glossy to matte.)
Pour mixture into a well-buttered 8” square dish. Let cool and cut into small squares. Serve.
