Kickin’ Jalapeño Burgers

A deliciously spicy burger gets its kick from a blend of real jalapeno peppers, Cayenne, paprika and onion. When layered with Roasted Garlic Aioli and all the fixings, you get one flavorful hamburger!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) lean ground beef
  • 2 tbsp Kickin’ Jalapeño Seasoning
  • 1 small tomato
  • 14 red onion
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 12 cup low-sodium sliced pickles
  • 4 whole wheat burger buns

Preparation

  1. Preheat grill to medium-high heat. Lightly brush with oil.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef and seasoning. Using a fork or your hands, mix until well blended. Form into four equal patties.
  3. Grill patties with lid closed 3–4 min per side, until cooked through.
  4. Meanwhile, thinly slice tomato and onion.
  5. Tuck burgers into buns and top with sliced veggies, lettuce, pickles, and aioli, if desired.

Tips

PORTOBELLO MUSHROOM BURGERS: Brush both sides of four mushroom caps with olive oil and 2 tbsp seasoning, getting as much of the seasoning and oil in the gills as you can. Grill with lid closed until tender, about 5 min per side.

JALAPENO POPPER BURGERS: In a bowl, mix 1⁄2 cup light cream cheese and 1⁄4 cup shredded cheddar cheese. Tuck burgers into buns and top each with 1⁄2 tbsp cream cheese mix and toppings of choice.
