8 servings

The sweetness of honey and pineapple with savoury Epicure’s Hawaii High-5 Marinade makes this recipe one to be remembered.

Ingredients

  • 4 lbs (1.8 kg) spareribs
  • 1 recipe prepared Hawaii High-5 Marinade
  • 1 can (8 oz/277 ml) crushed pineapple
  • 13 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 14 cup honey
  • 14 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tbsp Yaki Udon Stir-Fry Seasoning, or Teriyaki Dry Glaze

Preparation

  1. Cut ribs into serving-sized portions. Place in pasta pot. Add half of Hawaii High-5 Marinade and enough cold water to just cover ribs.
  2. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat. Cover and simmer for about 1 hour, until ribs are tender.
  3. Drain, then coat ribs with half of remaining Hawaii High-5 Marinade. If making ahead, cover and refrigerate overnight.
  4. Grill ribs, turning often, over medium heat for 6–8 minutes, until lightly charred. Toss with remaining marinade, or serve as a side sauce.
