Grilled Tofu, with Chipotle Aioli

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 14 cup maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 pkg (350 g) extra-firm tofu, cut into 1" blocks, drained well on paper towels
  • 1 recipe prepared Chipotle Aioli
  • 1 tbsp Chipotle Aioli Mix
  • 1 cup light mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp lemon juice, optional

Preparation

  1. Combine soy sauce, maple syrup, lemon juice and sesame oil, add Tofu and coat well. Marinate at least one hour.
  2. Pre-heat grill to medium. Lay tofu out. Cook for 3–5 minutes per side. Using a basting brush, baste with remaining marinade.
  3. Serve with aioli on the side.

Tips

If you have time, boil the Tofu in water for 2 minutes and drain well on paper towels before adding to marinade, this will bring out the best flavour of the Tofu.
