6 servings

Forget soup—this is French onion fun for the summer sun! No need to heat up the kitchen—these babies are grilled, not baked. Plus, we have a great hack for caramelized onions in the microwave. Whip up these sliders in minutes for a chill weekend dinner or as a pull-apart appy at your next hangout.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) lean ground beef
  • 2 12 tbsp French Onion Dip Mix or Toasted Onion, divided
  • 3 slices Swiss cheese
  • 14 cup light mayonnaise
  • 14 cup plain 2% Greek yogurt or sour cream
  • 12 slider buns

Preparation

  1. Preheat grill to medium-high. Lightly oil to prevent sticking.
  2. In a bowl, combine beef and 2 tbsp dip mix. Form mixture into 12 small, thin patties.
  3. Grill, with lid closed, until cooked, about 2–3 min per side.
  4. Meanwhile, cut each cheese slice into quarters. Top each patty with 1⁄4 of a slice of cheese during the last minute of cooking to melt.
  5. In a bowl, combine remaining 1⁄2 tbsp dip mix, mayo, and yogurt.
  6. Split and toast buns. Spread dip over top and bottom buns. Divide patties and caramelized onions (if desired) between bottom buns, then cover with top buns.

Tips

To quickly caramelize onions, place 1 thinly sliced onion into Square Steamer with 1 tbsp unsalted butter. Microwave, uncovered, on high 14–16 min, stirring halfway.

Chilly outside? Make your sliders on the stove instead. Heat a frying pan over medium-high heat; add patties. Cook 2–3 min per side, or until cooked through.
