Make a batch of Epicure's Basic Pizza Dough or save time and start with store-bought pizza dough. Both make big, fluffy, chubby pretzels best eaten straight out of the oven!
Ingredients
1 recipe prepared Basic Pizza Dough
1 pkg dry yeast
1 cup warm water
1 tsp sugar
1⁄2 tsp Sea Salt, ground
2 1⁄2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp Everything Bagel Whole Food Topper
1 egg + 1 tbsp water or milk, lightly beaten, for egg wash
Sea Salt, to taste
Preparation
Preheat oven to 425° F (220° C).
Cut pizza dough into 6 pieces and roll each one into a rectangle.
Sprinkle with topper.
Starting with one long edge, roll up dough to form a log. Using both hands, roll log into a long rope at least 16" long.
Form each rope into the shape of a pretzel, then place on Sheet Pan lined with Sheet Pan Liner. Generously brush tops with egg wash, then liberally sprinkle with Sea Salt. Bake until golden, 15–17 minutes.

Tips
How to shape pretzels: Shape rope into an upside down “U.” Bring ends up towards top middle of “U.” Flip ends over top of “U” so that the “knot” is in the centre.
