Cheeseburger Hand Pies
Thank you, Jenn Nguyen, for this recipe! These hand pies bring together the best of two worlds: the savoury goodness of a cheeseburger inside a hot and flaky pastry. Set up a DIY burger bar with these hand pies taking centre stage—serve with crispy fries, sliced veggies, and your choice of condiments for dunking.
Ingredients
1⁄3 cup sliced pickles
1 lb (450 g) lean ground beef
1 pkg Cheeseburger Pasta Seasoning
1 cup shredded marble cheese
1⁄4 cup water
2 tbsp ketchup
2 sheets frozen puff pastry, defrosted
Preparation
Preheat oven to 400° F. Line Sheet Pan with Sheet Pan Liner.
Chop pickles into small pieces.
In Sauté Pan, brown beef over medium-high heat. Add pickles, seasoning, cheese, water, and ketchup; stir to combine. Remove from heat and set aside.
Cut each puff pastry sheet into 8 equal pieces (you should have 16 pieces in total).
Arrange half of the pieces on the pan. Top each of the 8 pieces with an equal portion of beef filling, then place one of the remaining 8 pieces over each filling-topped piece. Pinch edges to close to form hand pies. Use a fork to poke holes on top of each hand pie. Brush with melted butter or oil.
Bake 12–14 min, or until golden brown.
