Caramel Bliss Bars

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 12 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 14 cup water, milk or cooled coffee
  • 1 pkg Chocolate Bliss Brownie Mix
  • 9 Petite Turtle Caramels, cut into thirds
  • 50 pecan halves
  • 3 tbsp chocolate chips
  • 34 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 12 cup butter, cubed
  • 1 can (300 ml) sweetened condensed milk
  • 12 tsp vanilla extract
  • Sea Salt, to taste
  • 34 cup chocolate fudge sauce or caramel sauce, chilled

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F. Line an 8” square pan with parchment paper.
  2. In large bowl, whisk eggs; whisk in melted butter and water. Add brownie mix; stir to combine.
  3. Scrape half the batter into prepared pan; bake for 10 min. Scatter caramel pieces over baked brownie; gently press in. Scrape remaining batter on top and smooth; bake until edges are firm and centre is set, about 30 more min.
  4. Meanwhile, using a hand mixer, beat chilled fudge or caramel sauce until light and fluffy.
  5. Refrigerate to cool brownies completely, about 1 hour. Spread icing on top. Cut into bars or squares.

Tips

To speed up prep time, make Petite Turtle Caramels a day before baking the bars.
