It’s packed with hearty flavours of beef and tomatoes and can be made in under 30 minutes for an easy weeknight dinner. Our pasta pick: Pappardelle. Its large, flat shape is perfect for thick, meaty sauces.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 lb (450 g) lean ground beef, chicken, or turkey
  • 1 cup red wine, optional
  • Black Pepper, to taste
  • 1 can (14 oz/ 398 ml) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 can (14 oz/ 398 ml) diced tomatoes
  • 3 tbsp Marinara Sauce Mix, or Arrabbiata Sauce Mix
  • Sea Salt, to taste

Preparation

  1. In a frying pan, heat oil over medium-high heat. Crumble in meat, then grind Salt and Pepper overtop.
  2. Use a Ground Meat Separator to break up meat. Stir often until cooked through, 5 - 8 minutes.
  3. Pour in wine. Bring to a boil and stir often until most of the liquid is absorbed, 1 - 2 minutes.
  4. Stir in tomatoes and add Sauce Mix. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat. Partially cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, 10 - 15 minutes to allow flavour to blend. Serve sauce over chunky noodles.
