Beat the winter blues and save big with this warm and cozy latte, made right at home. Whether you’re snuggled up by the fireplace or heading out the door on a chilly morning, spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, and brown sugar will warm your hands and your heart. It’s like sipping on a freshly baked apple pie!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 34 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Apple Pie Spice
  • 12 cup milk, your choice
  • 1 tbsp prepared syrup
  • 1 cup freshly brewed coffee or 2 shots espresso

Preparation

  1. In a small saucepan, bring water to a boil. Stir in sugar and spice until dissolved. Reduce heat to medium; simmer 7–10 min, until syrup coats the back of a spoon. You should have about 2⁄3 cup syrup; it will continue to thicken as it cools.
  2. In another saucepan, bring milk and 1 tbsp syrup to a boil over high heat. When bubbling, remove from heat and use Air Wand or whisk to froth milk.
  3. Divide hot coffee between mugs or thick-walled glasses; top with frothed milk and extra spice, if desired.
